It's the not so distant future and gas is so expensive cars are found mostly in car graveyards. The government is everywhere and is run pretty much by crazy C.I.A. types. Archie is a vegan grade school teacher working on an engine that will run on organic juices. Archie's having no luck with his engine when by accident he finds out it will run on blood. He's hoping animal blood will work but only human blood will do the trick.
This is low budget comedy horror at it's best. Blood Car won at several movie festivals and with good reason. The dialogue, though not quite as good as the classic Clerks, is hilarious and the movie never takes itself seriously which adds to it's likability. The three leads that play Archie, Denise and Lorraine are terrific. Katie Rowlett as Denise is especially great with lines that left me rolling.
Once Archie finds out his car will run on only human blood and that all the fine ladies in town will do "anything" to ride around in a car, the only problem he has to deal with is how to keep the gas tank full. Once the government finds out about Archie's car he also has to deal with their attempts to get in on his invention.
Don't let the title turn you off, this is a great little movie that you shouldn't miss. I give it an "A' and take my hat off to the first time director Alex Orr for this gem.
